IB Diploma Results

2011

Hockerill International Baccalaureate Diploma programme results for the 2011 cohort were released this afternoon (July 6 2011).


99% of candidates passed the Diploma with the Average Points Score for all candidates being 34.4.  This places the 2011 results broadly in line with those from 2010.


12% of all candidates scored 40 points or more with notable successes for Paul Gordon, Freddie Mitchell, Emma Simpson and Matthew Vine with 42 points.  Alex Aivazidis, Stephanie Drew, Amelia Rowan, Jakob Stachow and Alvo Von Cossel achieved 41 points each.


Early indications show that at least two students have gained a place at Cambridge and three students appear to have gained places at Imperial College.  Amongst other Universities, seven students appear bound for Nottingham, three seem University College London bound and four look to be on their way to Manchester.


Amongst other Universities welcoming several Hockerill students are Bristol, Edinburgh, King’s College London, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield and Warwick.


Hockerill Principal, Mr Simon Dennis, commented “These results are very pleasing and are testament to the hard work put in by our students.  We wish all of them success in obtaining University places and thereafter success in an increasingly competitive environment.

 

2010

In 2010 Hockerill obtained a 98% pass rate for the IB Diploma with an average point score of 35.

Hockerill Anglo European College in Hertfordshire topped the table for non selective state schools in the sixth form. Its pupils notched up an average exam point score of 502 - beating most selective grammar schools as well as comprehensives (Source: The Independent, Friday 20th August 2010).

 

 

Key Stage 4 Results

In 2010 Hockerill gained another set of outstanding results. The percentage of students achieving five or more A*-C was 97% and the percentage achieving five or more including English and Maths was 96%. The Telegraph ranked Hockerill as the top comprehensive in Hertfordshire for GCSEs. The number of entries awarded A*/A was 51%.
